What you should know before making a reservation

What is included in your package: Your package price includes service charges and hotel taxes.

Accommodation

ACCOMMODATION

Classification: Please note that accommodations are classified according to each country standards as set by its competent authorities which are not necessarily the same as in North-America.

Services: Most services described such as parking, tennis, safety deposit, etc. are not included in the price and are mentioned ‘for information only’ purposes. For additional information regarding our hotels, apart-hotels and their specific services, please contact your travel agent.

Meals & beverages: Most hotels where meal plans are offered do not include beverages.

Single rooms: Single rooms are often smaller in size than double rooms.

Triple rooms: Triple rooms are often comprised of double rooms with extra bed added.

Heating/Air conditioning: Each country we visit follows individual standards and regulations for use of heating and air conditioning regardless of accommodation category. It is possible that heating and air conditioning systems function at pre-determined times, as set by hotel management.

Special requests: Special requests such as sea view, large bed etc…are not automatically confirmed unless a surcharge is paid and is subject to availability and hotel discretion.

Amazon: Please note that accommodations in the Amazon do not offer North-American standards. Rustic lodge-style accommodations fitting beautifully in the local scenery are the norm.

Activities & animation: Hotel schedule for activities & animation may be reduced or cancelled during low season or when occupancy is low.

Prices

PRICES

Rates: Contribution to the ‘indemnity fund’ is not included in the base price. You must add $3.50 for each $1000 of your package cost.

Price validity: Published prices in our brochure and on our website are guaranteed for 60 days after publication. Prices may change due to increase in taxes, fees or charges imposed by competent public authority. MOREOVER: penalties may apply for changes and or modifications made to your reservation. In addition, prices are subject to fuel surcharges when applicable

Prices are guaranteed once tickets are issued.

Airport taxes: Please note that any increase in airport taxes will increase total package price. Jolivac cannot provide advance notice for airport taxes price increase.

Flights

FLIGHTS

Advance seat selection: Jolivac is pleased to offer advance seat selection on most flights. However airline carriers may not be able to confirm and honor seat selection for reasons of security or aircraft configuration.

Missed connection: If you miss your connecting flight or if you think you may miss this flight, due to your connecting flight being delayed you must as soon as possible contact the company in charge of your hotel transfer at the telephone number provided in your travel documents. Failing to do so may result in missing your transfer and be responsible for your transportation to destination at your cost.

Baggage

BAGGAGE

International flights: Jolivac provides detailed baggage allowance information as to acceptable weight and number of pieces of baggage allowed on flights. It is recommended that you verify this information with the airline before departure.

Domestic flights: Domestic flights baggage allowance is often different than international flights especially when connecting (to/from international flights). We recommend you contact your travel agent for detailed information.

Baggage loss: The following steps should be taken in the event you lose your baggage:

If your transfers are included in your trip, please call the transfer company and report:

  • Your baggage did not arrive and you cannot (yet) leave the airport.
  • Complete a lost/delayed baggage report provided by the airline carrier.
  • The airline is now responsible for the follow-up.
  • In the event a Jolivac representative is available, he/she may contact the airline carrier to ensure a report/file is ‘open’.
  • Important to note that repeated and angry calls to the airline do not speed up the process. Its employees are experienced and will endeavor to reunite you with your baggage as soon as possible.
  • IN TUNISIA, lost/delayed baggage claim procedures may be different.

On Tour: While on tour, baggage allowance (number and size) generally differ from airlines allowance due to space restrictions on bus etc. Ask your travel agent for more information.

Baggage handling on tour: Baggage will be transferred from airport to hotel and from hotel to/from the bus. In most cases, baggage will be brought to the hotel lobby not to your room. Hand luggage remains the responsibility of individual passengers.

By Train: Baggage storage on trains is limited and smaller size than on aircraft or bus. We recommend the use of smaller suitcases.

Tours

TOURS

Tour “Intensity”: Some tours are more intense than others. Discuss with your travel agent which tours better suit your personal preferences.

Ground Transportation: For tours with limited number of participants, smaller busses (less then 50-seater) may be used.

In Egypt: When travelling by bus, a mandatory tourist police escort is provided. An additional tour escort is provided with the expert guide. This additional escort may have no direct dealings with travelers and may not speak English. His role is to assist with your safety and protection.

Tips: While tipping is at the discretion of each individual, it is customary in most country, to leave a tip when satisfied with the service (drivers, guides, maids, waiters, bell boys). We recommend: driver Euro 1.50 per day/person, guide Euro 3.00 per day/person. Local guides 1-2 Euros, depending on the length of the visit. Waiters 1-2 Euros when meals are included (Egypt & South-America the equivalent in USD). For all accompanied tours from Montreal we also suggest a gratuity for your escort in accordance with the length of your trip.
